Welcome Family and Friends to "What's the latest with Sara! " blog !

Since I have been diagnosed with breast cancer, I have been told numerous times that I am on a journey. I have known for almost that long that I am not alone on the journey. I learned quite awhile back that what happens to one also impacts all of those in that person's life in varying degrees.
The purpose of this blog is to allow you to check in whenever you have the time to see what the latest is. I know that I need you-your love, prayers, testimonies, and support. I am richly blessed with loving, caring, amazing family and friends. I am so grateful for you. Thank you for your part on this journey.

Cheerful things I enjoy

As my daughters and I have talked about the journey I am embarking on, I realized early how much I need to see and hear from people in my life.  As I get farther into this treatment, I will have to be very careful to not be around anyone who is ill and will have to limit groups of more people.  I also thought about the many times I wanted to reach out to others who were not well, but I didn't know what to do.  So I've been thinking of things, I particularly enjoy.

The purpose of this page is to share some of  those things.  They are
  • emails* - I love just hearing from you.  If I'm not feeling very well, a short note will probably be best.
  • texts* - I have appreciated some texts that say "thinking of you", good luck with the surgery, etc.
  • cards*
  • visits - I love talking with you.  I don't know how I will be feeling.  I hear that sometimes I won't be up for visits or I may need to keep them short.
  • phone calls* - if I don't answer, please leave a message so I can get back with you when I get it and/or feel better
  • jokes, funny sayings, funny stories
  • quotes-at one time I collected quotes in a special book
  • spiritual things - quotes, stories, experiences, pictures, etc.
  • peaceful music and happy music-a variety of kinds.  I like hymns, Primary songs, show tunes,  songs with nature in them like water, birds singing, etc.  My kids are helping me get a collection of them together.
  • nature - scenes, sounds, plants, etc.
  • flowers-most all kinds
  • things that are colorful, cheerful, and happy.
  • good movies-I lean towards older ones- James Garner, Pat Boone, Don Knotts, Doris Day, are some that come to mind.  I also like many of the Hallmark movies.  I also like mysteries that aren't gruesome, etc.
  • Some of you have offered to bring me milkshakes.  I have your names down and will be contacting you. :-) I hesitate to say anything about food, because I don't know what my tastes will be.  They tell me they are sometimes different.  I'll have to let you go.  I've been told it is best to stay away from sugary foods.  :-(
* Just love hearing from you.
